Aww the no shadows thing stinks. It's like playing Thief multiplayer where you might have shadows on and use them for hiding yourself but others might have shadows off . Damn I was really hoping shadows would be a big thing in DF for rogue like characters and whatnot since there's no real "stealth" skill other than using the shadows available ingame.

But still can't wait to play it! Come on public beta, hurry up already!

Environmental shadows in games like DF shouldn't be something you can turn off imo. Character shadows on the other hand, who gives a fuck? xD
How often are you hiding in the shadows of another person anyway?
